Swiss Chalet Rotisserie & Grill

I generally like Swiss Chalet food, but I have great concerns regarding this location.

Because this restaurant is located on Native land, it, along with all the other food services located in this area are not subject to Fraser Valley health board inspections and I, as a consumer have no way of ensuring the cleanliness of the kitchen and food prep areas, food handling, rodent infestations etc. and staffs training concerning their overall approach towards best sanitation and cleanliness practices.

I am led to believe that the washroom facilities, along with overall cleanliness at this location is quit bad, which in my mind speaks volumes about overall concern about the staffs ability to run a truly great restaurant.

It would be in this restaurant's best interest to request regular inspections from the health board and having their findings posting the results on line.

In all fairness, it's been a while since visiting this establishment. I intend to show up very soon and have lunch and/or dinner and do some snooping of the facilities and then a follow up review that will cover cleanliness, level of service and quality of product and I will post the unbiased results back here. UPDATE #2

So I arrived un-announced with friends to have a dinner. We did not have to wait for a hostess, one greated us warmly at reception and seated us immediately and offered to seat our friends when the arrived.

Our waitress was a mature woman who was polite, whitty and attentive which I really appreciate. We never had to call her to our table, she seemed to have a 6th sense about when she was needed that is only learned from years of experience. Wonderful !

The food was served in an efficient manner, properly cooked and looked good. As for the flavor of the food I'll leave thst up to the individuals own taste buds.

A cursory look of the restaurant proper and the washrooms reflected a clean well maintained standard of cleanliness and from my small view of the kitchen, it also appeared from my vantage point clean and organized, but I cannot speak to food handling or cleanliness of staff that are handling the food.

So I applaud you Swiss Chalet....you have proved the naysayers wrong and I thank you for your diligence and I offer my endorcement of your establishment for what it's worth and for the level of services you provided.

I still believe it would behoove you to pay to have your establishment inspected by the fraser health authorities and the results posted on line........

Keep up the good work and one day in the near future I'll be back.

great food, really feels like eating a home cooked meal, very welcoming from the hosts and servers and the waitress there are so sweet and great with kids and dissolving situations affectionately.

The Chilliwack location is one of the cleanest restaurants I have eaten at. Great food, and super friendly people. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. Keep up the good work.

It has been 5 years since I had a Swiss Chalet. My last experience was memorable not in a good way. Like any Swiss Chalet, nothing has changed. They have the same look and feel for ages. You don't go here for ambiance or nostalgia. You go here to eat. Best chicken and ribs. The staff was friendly and nice. That is all you need to enjoy your meal.
