Here's an updated review since my year in grade 8 has ended.
Summit Middle School does a poor job of showing support for LGBT+ Youth. Though the counselors and youth workers are great (and I very much appreciate them) the school itself is very quiet and ignorant towards the topic. They put up rainbow stickers saying that they're LGBT friendly yet never speak up when students voice their concerns when it comes to discrimination. Stickers aren't enough, stickers don't do anything. 3 stars for the great people I've met in Summit. 3 stars because the 3 years I've spent there have drained me mentally.
Not only is Summit failing at showing support for LGBT students, it also sucks at spreading awareness about mental health. Again, youth workers and counselors are great though. I can't say how many times school has made me cry and suffer panic attacks because I've lost count. I also can't say how many times I've felt supported by the school when I was going through a hard time because it's never happened. And I know a lot of people who agree.
Summit has it's fair amount of good teachers and people. There's always going to be toxic behaviours no matter where you go but lots of other schools definitely handle toxicity better.
