I attended at Fraser Valley Aquatic Rehabilitation ("Fraser Valley") for Watsu Water Therapy after pulling a muscle in my lower back. I was taking out light shades to clean them. I had not been working out regularly for a number of years and my core strength had weakened (which I think was the cause for the pulled muscle from such a minor task). I am 55 years old and started to notice muscle pain after walking which did not bother me previously. My hips were sore and tight and I was getting minor pain down the sides of my glutes and thighs as well. I decided to give this therapy a try and I am so happy I found Fraser Valley. Joyce is a wonderful therapist! I worked out for 1/2 hour with weights in the water, then literally laid back floating while my whole body was "stretched" and "massaged". My muscles felt amazing (for days) and I was more aware of how wide and tall I am (I guess it brings more awareness)! The other bonus is that I have now joined a gym and am able to work out "pain free"! I don't think I would be able to workout like I currently am (5 days week) without having had this therapy. I also gained knowledge through my sessions with Joyce about how stretching our muscles is important to being pain free. I now always stretch before/after I work out. I will definitely use Joyce and Watsu just for the pleasure of it as opposed to managing pain as it is one of the best experiences I have had and far better than any massage therapy I've experienced!
