Excellent staff and well appointed public area's make this a retirement community worth considering.
The residents who I spoke with said positive things about the food. However I always recommend that folks research the food by booking a lunch with the sales person at the Renaissance and see if you enjoy the food.
They also offer above ground outdoor parking - this cannot be taken for granted because often the underground parking structures at retirement residences offer tight parking spots with looming insurance claims.
Amenities include:
- a private dining room with kitchen so residence can host their families for special events
- computer room for residents who want to send the occasional email without the burden of having a computer in their own suite
- minibus for shuttle service to local shopping, entertainment and special events
- beautiful beautiful outdoor shaded gazebo and social area
Amazing care from medical staff. I was concerned that I had not heard from my parents after my Mom had surgery. I placed a call to Care Staff and within minutes I received a call about general health and a note that they would have my parents call. Amazing safety net of care and professionals.
After touring a couple of retirement residences and not feeling optimistic about moving into one, mom instantly liked Chartwell Renaissance. The grand lobby and French Provincial decor won her over. She moved in two days later and remains happy with her choice. Day to day living is really about the staff in a retirement residence and the staff at the Renaissance are wonderfully attentive to mom and her needs. Perhaps it is not fair to single out a staff member because they're all so good but Sue Dinsmore is the staff spark plug. Her energetic compassion for others is a blessing to those facing the challenges of life's last season. Thank you Sue, everyone at the Renaissance, and Chartwell.
We had a wonderful tour with Sue Dinsmore at The Renaissance. My friend was considering moving to Langley from Burnaby and we had already seen several retirement residences before touring at The Renaissance. Sue was so friendly and informative and was able to answer any questions that we had. At the end of our tour, Sue went to get an information package for us and my friend said, "I guess you know that I've already decided". We were both very comfortable with Sue and my friend said that it just felt right. The Renaissance is a lovely retirement residence and is certainly a "step-up" from the rest but still charges reasonable rates.
The front lobby area with its grand staircase looks like the entrance to a hotel, the suites are spacious and bright, the garden is delightful, and the menu is amazing. My friend and I are both very excited for her to be moving to The Renaissance next month!
My Mom was looking for somewhere were she could meet new friends and feel safe. From the first time we walked through the doors she said it was like being on a cruise ship without the water. Staff are more like good friends always smiling and willing to help. As a son I know that mom will be well looked after and still has the freedom to come and go, as well as do what she wants. Thank you Chartwell for a well thought out residence and community.
