My son and I had the pleasure of having Dr. McLeod as our Family Doctor for six months. We unfortunately have decided to relocate across the country and she will be greatly missed. I highly recommend her, she’s fantastic!
I honestly can say that I feel lucky to be a patient Dr. McLeod. It's nearly impossible to find a family physician in the city and to find someone, who cares and takes their time with each patient is even more difficult. I've read reviews highlighting waiting times. From my personal experience I sometimes have to wait 20-30 minutes for my appointment, but I don't mind at all. She never rushes through your visit, takes her time to answer all the questions you have, and is honestly just a pleasure to deal with. I also like her honest approach. She practices common sense medicine, which I really appreciate. I'm staying with her through my pregnancy and couldn't be happier.
Heather Mcleod has been my family doctor for 9 years now since my first pregnancy, she will shortly be delivering my fourth child.
My first pregnancy was extremely difficult especially nearing the end, I truly believe it was heathers knowledge and dedication to her patients well being that kept me alive, I have since had an additional 3 difficult pregnancies of which Heather has always managed very well.
I would over and over again recommend Heather Mcleod, I have always found Heather to deliver the utmost level of care. I truly believe she cares about each and everyone one of her patients, she will also spend all the time you need with her, she will not rush you out or limit what you can speak about during an appointment.
Her level of dedication is extremely high and I cannot say more about how lucky I feel to have her for
my family doctor. Sometimes her office is busy but I know that she delivering a level of care which takes time and that is more than ok with me.
I first met Dr Heather McLeod when pregnant with my daughter in 2016. I found her to be incredibly thorough and knowledgeable across all aspects of my pregnancy, labor and delivery. We had some complications late in my pregnancy, as well as early on when my daughter was born, and Dr McLeod went out of her way to answer our questions, see us after hours, and research our situation thoroughly to ensure we felt confident and were armed with all of the information required. We are fortunate to have a healthy little girl now and continue to use Dr McLeod as our family physician. The care provided to us has always felt well beyond that which I would expect from our GP.
Heather McLeod has been my doctor for over 2 babies. My oldest is 4 and my youngest is 5 months. I find her very through, and positive. She wants to see the babies in her care thriving and doing well.
With my first baby I had a very straight forward pregnancy and birth. I had an Un-medicated labour and just did pain management in the bath tub, she never pressured me to take any pain medicines nor did she mention anything about it. She supported my decision to breastfeed my baby, because she was gaining weight and thriving. I breastfed my baby until 8months and I switched to formula purely so I could get a break. Heather supported my breastfeeding decision and my formula decision.
I had trouble conceiving my second child and when I raised concerned Heather was quick to start blood tests and get the ball rolling, she was very supportive during this time. When I got pregnant she closely monitered my blood pressure as it was slightly high, nothing to be concerned about, but she wanted to make sure me and the baby were safe. For my seconds birth I used gas for pain management for the last half an hour of pushing. My milk took a while to come in for my second so I supplemented with formula, but also breastfed. Heather was very supportive, and encouraging as a I had a hard time with it thinking I was “failing” my baby. She was there to reassure me that a fed baby is the best baby.
Heather was so encouraging during my labour, always very calm and kept me very calm. I always knew me and my babies were in good hands.
I have actually moved out of north van but make the 1 hour commute just to keep her as my doctor, because she is trustworthy and so caring.
My only complaint would be she’s usually running late, but I believe it is because she spends so much time with her patients in the hospital and the clinic, making sure they are comfortable, and building relationships with them, this is hard to find in a doctor. So the waiting is a small price to pay.
