Food was delicious, particularly enjoyed the chicken and beef selections. A little on the pricey side at $13.50 for a bowl and $12 for a wrap. Limited seating. Right next to the Shipyards seawall and skating rink.
Vegan sampler (3/5)
The cauliflower was easily the best part of this dish. It had a nice smoky flavour, was crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. The falafel was okay, nothing too special. The dips were kind of disappointing. I didn't really like the smoky flavour of the eggplant dip, but that's on me. The hummus was okay, but the spinach dip lacked flavour. The lentil stew was decent, but nothing spectacular. The cabbage salad was unmemorable. I would say the only thing worth getting here is the cauliflower.
Probably won't be back again, as the portions were pretty small for the price and the food was just average. I'm hoping to find some better Lebanese/Middle Eastern restaurants in Vancouver.
Good environment, great location. Lots of vegetarian options. Better to sit and eat there as take out gets kind of soggy. Decently priced as well.
The Makali is one of the best cauliflower dishes I've had in Vancouver. All the dips are absolutely delicious. Beautiful location by the waters!
Nice Lebanese place with vegetarian options. Food tastes really good. Staff are wonderful and friendly. They behave well and want you to visit more than once. They go that extra mile to ensure customers are taken care of. It is a small place overall. So, it will be problem to dine in if you are larger groups and especially during winters - during summers, you will be able to enjoy the view if Vancouver skyline if you just step out of the restaurant. I recommend this to anyone who is up for exploring different varieties of food.
