This is the new Save-on-Foods on West Boulevard at 49th Avenue.
It is a small and narrow space. Being in the store for the first time, we needed to ask for lot of the things that were looking to buy.
We found those items with help from the staff. They have the usual things in a compact space.
The check out is also in a narrow room. I think once people start shopping here they will fogure out best to movr around in the store.
There are plenty of stalls in the underground parking accessed from the lane. Parking is free for the shoppers.
The staff is friendly and helpful.
BC owned and operated and a bit pricey with good selection with many local products.
My first visit I discovered the Wing Bar and took some chicken wings home for an easy dinner. Will be doing that again.
The check out area is a bit cramped and you have to re-enter the store to exit, which is an odd "traffic" pattern. The checkout counters have little space for groceries once they have been bagged .
On my second visit, I left without one bag. I thought the cashier had packed it all in one and she never put the second one up before I left. She seemed distracted with me asking for a coupon to be scanned on my phone and in hindsight, this might have resulted in my missing bag.
I called the store once I was home and unpacking my groceries and realized what I was missing. The customer service agent tracked it down and refrigerated the bag until I got there. That was nice. Another service agent was asking what happened as she said the cashier said I just left. I said I never felt like the bag was put where I would take it and I had been slow to leave the checkout area but no one called after me.
The correction was fine but I just wish they had offered some kind of compensation- a coupon or even on the phone offering for it to be delivered the next day . The convenience of having the location on my way home was lost that day by having to go back.
