Charlie Don't Surf

We stopped here as it was not far off our route, on our way back to Vancouver after a visit to Seattle. What a fab looking little place White Rock is. It was a shame we visited after dark, as I think we missed out on some great views. We chose to eat in Charlie’s because it looked quite busy and we thought that was a good sign! We both chose cod and chips and we weren’t disappointed. Loads of fries too, I couldn’t finish all of mine! Shame I had no room for dessert! 2 x cod and fries, one beer and one coke came to $45 inc tip.

The outside patio is the reason everyone loves this place. Happy hour prices every day on a limited selection of food and drinks. The décor inside is getting a little tired but some people call it, vintage. I spoke with an elderly couple at the next table, reminiscent, that the "place hasn't changed in 30 years, but is better now that the son took over". The lineup was out the door when we left on Monday, good job....

Came for a drink with a new friend. Had a glass of white sangria and it was very good. The place has a very cool atmosphere. Didn't try any food but it smelled delicious. I would definitely recommend and go back.

My wife and I went for an afternoon walk and worked up a good appetite. We kept our eye out and picked Charlie's. We loved everything. The food was well presented and serviced, a good portion size, and tasted excellent. The sunset and view added to the atmosphere that I would describe as a chill pub house with a unique marine feel. The experience was good value, I would recommend this place!

Had the salmon burger (forgot the real name of it) and it was absolutely delicious, the fries were cooked to perfection and as a plus, they have a revolving table piece so it's super easy to share appetizers with others. Went there at night time but it's right on the beach so still a good view regardless! Their vegetarian options are good too especially considering that their primary offering seems to be seafood oriented as well. All in all, a good visit.
