The redevelopment of this small park is now geared toward younger children. Gone was the swingset and larger slide. Now there is a slide and climbing structure for kids aged 6 and under, a sandbox with a water feature that is active during the warmer months (along with the drinking fountain). The two tier merry go round will keep kids of all ages busy, and the public lending library box is a nice touch.
This is a small little park for running off some steam. Love the sandbox with built in water structure! Small equipment for ages 2-5, a two level merry go round and a four person teeter totter! There are some benches as well. It's all fenced in which is also nice as royal oak is right on a hill there and hard to see. There is also a cute book exchange at the entrance, drop a book take a book kind. It's a very nice local park. No trails and it isn't covered in trees but to play on equipment it's perfect!
A very good place for a short stay and to read something! A box fill with books is just outside of the Park. Please, fill free to read anything you want and/or fill it with what you have read and want to share with your neighbours!
Great place were to bring kids, except when you find a very rude person who, despite the law, decides to smoke in the park not giving a damn about her smoke going towards me and my 3 months old daughter.
After talking to her and letting her notice that she shouldn't smoke in a playground with also infants around, she became very aggressive and rude.
She "justified" that saying that there are no "no smoking" signs and that this one is not a public park (false).
Not only this (like if it wasn't already enough), she left her cigarette butts on the ground where she sat.
nice park. fenced, good play structures for young kids. sand box with water feature.
