I’ve always avoided Mr. Lube and felt quite wary going in to get an oil change. I was mostly worried that the mechanic at the Mr. Lube would tell me my car needs repairs and would try to get me to spend hundreds of dollars. I went to Mr. Lube with the intention of only getting an oil change. The mechanic scanned in my plates and told me that I did not need an oil change. He was very informative and helpful and told me that I still had 5000km until I need to get an oil change and that synthetic oil lasts a year. He checked my oil level to make sure I was good to go and even have me a new sticker for when I need to get another oil change because I had lost mine. I have had a great experience with Mr. Lube and would definitely come here again.
Edit: I received a response from Mr Lube (Tommy and Keith).
They made good on the oil spill in the engine bay but offering to have it cleaned and this was huge as they took responsibility wanted to make it right and they did. They took care of making arrangements and made it convenient working with me for time and availability.
I was also offered a courtesy oil change as a result. I’m not sure yet if I’ll take advantage but it does show that they are willing to make things right and that’s a step forward to building customer service . For that upped from 1 star to 4 because in fairness they made strides to make it right.
UPDATE as of July 27 2021. I sent this email to the management:
As a consumer, especially in the automotive industry, it’s important to have businesses you know and trust. Especially when it comes to mechanics repair and maintenance .
Unfortunately your establishment has demonstrated that there is either a lack of experience or lack of trust and reliability or both.
In as many as the past 4 visits I’ve experience the following
1) Being told my differential fluid is in very bad shape and was likely filled with the wrong fluid and must be replaced right away. For your information, Honda has red coloured differential fluid unlike most domestic vehicles which may have a traditional oil colour.
2) Had my power steering fluid over filled, to the point it sprayed all over my engine bay and underside of my hood after driving and was never cleaned properly by your staff, they used a pressure washer with water to remove oil??
3) Being told that my 3 yr old tires were low by 5psi and that I need nee tires and offered pricing for new tires as they are worn out (and I switch out seasonally from dedicated winter tires to all season every year) .
4) Being told my 1yr old battery needs replacing and reading low on test, so my car wouldn’t start and being told to buy a new one. The next morning my car didn’t start, only to find out my positive + battery terminal was loosened and not in contact with the battery . The battery was tested using a multimeter and was just fine.
The last 2 points occurred on my most recent visit .
I can certainly say barring any oil top ups from this most recent visit, I will not be using your business from lack of trust … honestly I can see how someone who might not be as familiar with vehicles would fall for these , what I call Mickey Mouse tricks. It’s a shame in this day and age with a brand like Mr Lube , there’s staff and technicians willing to use tactics like these to push repair and maintenance like this.

they took care of my dodge very well. i will keep coming back for proper maintenance of my challenger which is very dear to me.
