Ricky's Café - Coquitlam Centre

We were greeted by a friendly server and our order came fast. We liked the regular bacon and eggs meal we received but the Eggs Benedict Hollandaise sauce tasted like plane butter and was very runny. We would not recommend it. When we told the server she took them away and brought scrambled eggs which we did not order and no new hash browns and still charged us for the meal. We also asked for hot water which we received cold instead. The restaurant was clean and they observed social distancing. Hope they change their sauce and the presentation of service in the future.

Spacious interior with high ceiling, generous portion of food, reasonable priced. Convenient located at a corner near the food court entrance of Coquitlam Centre. A lovely choice to take care of your appetite on a relaxed Saturday afternoon.

Strengths: open on New year's day, good portion size, staff made new pot of coffee just for us
Weakness: food was so so, coffee wasn't good

We haven't gone to Ricky's for a long time. With the little one staying at a relatives place we decided to take the opportunity to get breakfast alone. There's nothing remarkable about the menu. It's standard Western fair - ham, eggs, pancakes, waffles. Coffee wasn't good. That just ruins everything. The toast was a tad hard. Pan cakes weren't fluffy. Everything else was meh. Of course the place was open on New year's day and that was a blessing. I still rather eat out than to cook that day.

Great service, so attentive and they keep it running quick and clean.

Need a little more practice in the egg cooking department as our whole table had over done eggs. But happy otherwise.

Bonus my kids pancakes were free!!

NEW OPENING UPDATE:
The inside looks really nice and fresh and open. Service was okay, they were obviously still working out some kinks. I had the stuffed French toast and my partner had the chicken strips. I wish the French toast was done a little longer but still was tasty. Chicken strips are always amazing here. The fresh flowers on the table were a nice touch.

The food was really good. Service was only okay considering we were the only people in the restaurant. A nice menu and good value. Will definitely come back.
