Folks at Shpak and particularly, Mario, have been life-savers in negotiating all the paperwork of CEBA and CEWS and other eligible support like the BC recovery grant for our business, which has been severely affected (sales down to 20-something percent) by Covid-19 restrictions. Despite the scaling back we've had to do, I'm increasingly confident that with the support and planning undertaken, we'll come out OK and ready to ramp up again when the lockdowns end and normalcy returns.

I've used accountants for personal income tax preparation in the past and found their staff can be careless. In one instance, if I hadn't thoroughly checked their work, I could have been out more than $1,000.00 due to a data entry error. That was just the final of 3 errors. I went back to doing my own taxes after that.

More recently, I needed an accountant for doing my business taxes and I was recommended to use an accountant in Vancouver. In the first year, one of the staff contacted me because they couldn't log into the Canada Revenue Agency website on behalf of the business. I discovered their problem was that they were spelling the name incorrectly! If they can't get their customer's name right, would you trust them with your money?

That's when I discovered Shpak & Company. They have been doing my company taxes for 3 years now and they are always on top of everything. Just before tax time, they contact me with reminders and clear instructions. The staff are very good at doing their job and I'm paying almost a third of what the Vancouver accountant wanted. Paying more doesn't always mean you are getting better value and I'm clearly getting much better service for less money here. I'm truly grateful that I found them and gave them a try.
