I highly recommend working with Darb. After not being in the gym for along time it was very scary to start back but Darb provided an encouraging and comfortable training experience. Don’t get me wrong. He was tough and made sure you put in 110% at each session. He made sure to push you and help you get the most out of your training. I promise you will not regret signing up and you will see definite changes in your body!! Don’t think about it. Just do it!!
Darb is an excellent trainer! He is helping me to continue to crush my fitness goals.
Darb is patient with explaining the different exercises/stretches and ensuring my form is correct. Training is now something I look forward to as he makes it fun and holds me accountable week after week.
Darb helped me progress tremendously with my strength training! When i first started seeing him, my squat was at 120lbs and by my second session I was at 135lbs for reps with excellent form. Every session I had with him I reached a new PR. He also helped me with my nutrition and gave me much needed support. I started working out with Darb in 2019 and saw fast results. Working out with him was fun and he helped me change my lifestyle by introducing me to my new favourite hobby. Thanks to him, I have gained confidence in myself inside and outside of the gym!
I met Darb in February 2019. At the time, I had gained around 30lbs in a span of 6-8 months.
It was not a good 30lbs either. It wasn’t that I wasn’t working out. I was exercising regularly for 45 mins-1 hour a day (mostly all cardio) Even so, my weight either remained the same, or it increased! It also didn’t help that I was in a very dark place in my life. My self esteem and self confidence had hit rock bottom.
What I really appreciated about my first meeting with Darb was that he didn’t just ask me questions related to exercise and diet. Darb really took the time to listen to my story. To hear me and really understand when it came to what got me to that stage of my life. The fact that he took the time to listen, and understand where I was coming from mentally, it meant everything to me.
After meeting with Darb and going through my diet and exercise routine, he very quickly identified that not only did I need to improve my eating habits (I can still hear Darb saying MORE PROTEIN KAM!) but also that my workout routine was completely out of whack. I was under my own impression that doing an hour of cardio regularly would keep the weight down. How wrong I was. Darb came up with an exercise plan that would help me get into the shape I wanted to by developing an effective weight training strategy (which by the way terrified me at the time!) The very thought of not being able to lift heavy weights compared to other members in the gym made me feel like I was less of a man. Mentally and emotionally, I was at an all time low. All that would change very quickly all thanks to Darb.
Its not an exaggeration when I say that I started noticing results literally after 3-4 personal training sessions. Not only myself, but those closest to me could notice the difference. In just 3-4 personal training sessions, Darb taught me how to weight train effectively and more importantly, safely (lifting lighter if needed, more reps, holding each rep for 3 seconds for effective fat burning, having proper form/technique) One of the biggest compliments I could ever receive at that time was when Darb told me after 2-3 weeks of personal training: “Hey man, this is the same t-shirt you were wearing when I first met you. It looks totally different on you now. I can see the results Kam. Keep it going!” This wasn’t a college coach giving me the “rah rah” Pete Carroll speech. This was and felt real. Till this day, I don’t think Darb realizes what his words meant to me. From that moment on, my confidence spiked! I was determined that nothing was going to come in between me and my fitness goals!
What I liked most about Darb’s approach to personal training was that he wasn’t the stereo typical army drill Sargent guy you see on TV and in the movies. Yes, he would get on me when he felt like I could push myself more. When I didn’t believe I could push for that extra rep, he believed in me. His belief in me had me believing in myself! In between sets, we would talk about similar interests (NFL, life, WWE-LOL!) But when it was time to train, it was all business! When it’s time to workout with Darb, you better bring your lunch box and hard hat because he’ll make you bring it.
Long story short, after 15 personal training sessions, Darb not only helped me with the results that I was wanting, but more importantly he helped me regain my confidence and my smile which had been missing for far too long. If you have a chance to hire Darb as a Personal Trainer, don’t hesitate! Don’t over think it! It’ll be well worth it.
