B&W Montessori Learning Academy

Like many new moms, I was apprehensive about daycares and who would be looking after my precious baby. B&W Montessori arrived in Riverwood and we soon found out what a neighbourhood gift Lisa and her child care team is. 8 years later, and with both our kids having successfully ‘graduated’ from B&W, we are sadly leaving the place our boys have called a 2nd home for the better part of a decade. Lisa and all the teachers are all warm, patient and extremely helpful. Our hearts ache a little, but our souls are stronger for having been a part of B&W this long.

I’ll never forget doing a spontaneous ‘spot check’ in the middle of the morning in the early days. With a house full of 8 little ones, Lisa had them all individually, quietly working. These wee ones were selecting from a variety of Montessori materials displayed on open shelves, raising hands, speaking softly and behaving. All of them! They were all quiet and focussed! All of them! Quiet & focussed! She is a true ‘child whisperer’ 😊 The care at B&W is not only for the child, but for the family as the care team supports not just the kids, but also parents and grandparents to make sure that each child is successful emotionally, physically, and academically.

Both our kids are/were well prepared for not only Kindergarten, but for life. She’s taught them Mandarin and French; life skills (like manners and social cues); and even brings in a music teacher every week. We had daycare holiday events and field trips; creative art projects, newsletters, and even regular report cards showing our children’s progress … in Pre-School!!!!

I highly recommend B&W for placement for your children. You will get the love and support for your children that is as close to “mom” as possible in an environment that helps bring out the best in your children. If it takes a ‘village’ to raise a child, you want the B&W team in your neighbourhood. We are so grateful and blessed she is in ours.
