best floors and best installers
Great service. Very knowledgeable staff and excellent installation crews. I have used them in the past and will in the future. These guys understand proper installation techniques and are very professional. I understood that delays in installation were caused by the busy construction season so I won’t hold that against them. They have great selection of flooring, good quality stuff!
I went to a number of stores and did a fair bit of research to find flooring for my condo. I ended up buying some beautiful engineered hardwood from Boardwalk Floors in Richmond, BC. They gave me the best price on the flooring. I ended up choosing them to do my installation, levelling, etc. Since I already live in the place and couldn't move all my furniture out, I paid them to move some furniture around so they could work.
They started late and the 1 week estimate turned into 2 weeks+ because they said there were defects in the product. I constantly had to call the owner, Tomasz Gara, for updates. There were few times that he proactively called me to provide an update. I appreciated that they asked Appalachian to send some new replacement flooring. I had to live in a dusty condo until the new flooring arrived and could be installed. Tomasz said he would deliver the 5 extra boxes of replacement product that they didn't install because it didn't need to get installed. 5 months later and not communication, again.
The flooring got installed but there are a few hollow and creaky spots in addition to glue residue in quite a few places. I let the flooring settle for a few months and then called the owner, Tomasz Gara about 5 weeks ago to have someone come in and repair defects. He said that someone would call me within a week. 4 weeks later and no reply. Again, no communication. I called the store to let them know that I'm upset with the poor service/lack of call backs.
I'm only giving 3 stars because I like the product and they got me the best price. If my rating was just on service, I would give them a 2. As they say, you get what you pay for.
