Excellent facility. Clean and well equipped. Coaching staff are knowledgeable and attentive. Whether you are a seasoned lifter or new to the sport of strength training, this gym has everything you need to be successful and meet your health and fitness goals.
Sailor Jacks is an amazing performance centre! I was a competitive gymnast from age 8 to 14 then a national level polevaulter from 14 to 23. I have had chronic SI joint pain since age 12 and I couldn't seem to keep my hips in line even after stopping competitive sports and doing group fitness and stretching classes for 5 years.
Chris and Jen have made an amazing well rounded program that has improved my mobility and I no longer have SI joint pain! Mobility= strength with flexibility :D
Not only is the programming effective, the community is amazing. I know I will have life long friendships and support through this training centre. I feel stronger mentally, physically, spiritually, and emotionally since joining. I also feel like my own personal beliefs are well respected (that's a large part of the spiritual piece.)
I'm coming up on my 2 year anniversary and my PRs in power and Olympic lifting are blowing me away. Also, trying on bathing suits the other week was a surprisingly good experience ? Gainz!
I wouldn't be where I am physically today without the knowledge and accountability from Jen, Chris, and the rest of the SJBG community!
Luv you guys ❤️⚓
I’ve trained as a dancer, participation level triathlete, boot camp member and briefly as a Crossfitter. Sailor Jack’s gym is undoubtedly the most efficient and effective training I have experienced. It’s true that Chris is a hyper knowledgeable coach and teacher. I wanted more barbell work than my previous gym and I got it; both Olympic lifting and Powerlifting. I wanted a more personalized and respectful gym than CrossFit. Chris and Jen proved I could have it all. I am well taken care of. The warmup has a scientific basis and you won’t leave without a concentrated effort on core training. There is an on-site treatment clinic that has helped my previously injured shoulder gain both strength and mobility. The Garage Gym has everything I need to improve my strength, and performance. Chris and Jen have all the up to date knowledge to keep my lifestyle on the side of good health and it’s fun!
Joined Sailor Jacks to get back into game shape and just improve overall strength and health. Unlike other gyms, they do an initial consultation / intake to get an understanding of where your body and mind is at and so that they can tailor a workout plan depending on what your goals are.
After this initial consultation, you begin your workout plan - one of the best parts about this type of training and environment is that you can see the times that are available on a calendar and pencil yourself in. For example, if you're looking to workout on a Friday in the morning, you can see gym availability and slot yourself in.
Chris and his staff are knowledgable in training. Before every workout, you begin with a proper warm up which I believe is key to getting most out of your workout and longevity in your training.
If you wanna gain knowledge, be an a great environment with great people, this is the place to be.
I love this gym! It's literally a garage full of dumbbells, barbells, racks and a bunch of people working hard to get strong.
The community here is a huge selling point for me. The gym members are from a wide range of experience and ages. The amazing thing is that many of the other members take interest in seeing others progress every day. They cheer me on when I learn a new skill (like doing a handstand for the first time in my life!) and give me tips when they see me struggling.
I should mention that I am completely new at many of the moves I am learning (bench press, squats, etc.) and I've been looking for a while to find a place like this so I could learn how to do it safely. These trainers are absolutely amazing and have helped me feel completely comfortable learning to do lifts that have always intimidated me.
This ain't Fitness World! This is a completely different gym experience and if you would like to get serious about getting fit in a friendly welcoming environment I highly recommend this place!
