I still value loyalty, even when it is becoming a thing of the past. I usually renew my car insurance the day after I receive the reminder from ICBC or the call from Westland Insurance, my car insurer. But due to the pandemic and not-so-pleasing experience of renewal over the phone in contrast to the in-person renewal, this time my insurance renewal was almost on the expiry date. Just like the previous years of insurance renewal, the extraordinary experience of in-person renewal started with greetings and a short wait. The insurance advisor was so professional, knew the forms inside and out, and most of all, she listened to what I wanted as my coverage. The renewal was fast, even when you factor the time she spent looking for savings on my behalf. Truly an experience worth the time, and the money, an experience that can only be repaid by continuing to use their services for more than a decade now.
