Old building but spacious apartments with bright skylight at the best location . Happy to be living here

I've been living here for over 2 years now, it's not bad and it's not great. Where you live in the building (as in who your neighbours are) makes a huge difference in how your experience will be with respect to things like noise or smoking.
The building does not have cameras and there aren't strict rules like in some other apartments in this area, which explains why there is sometimes garbage or the halls aren't neat and tidy.
There is lots of parking, all of it free (getting rarer and rarer in multi unit housing these days). The underground is assigned, and everyone just uses the visitor parking themselves if it's close to their unit. Actual visitors park on the street usually.
Car theft and break in is a very regular thing here, but if you don't leave valuables laying about you're usually ok. If you leave things laying around someone will take them.
For garbage disposal, you just take whatever garbage you have to the dumpster in the underground parking lot whenever you want (no set garbage days).
For laundry there are 4 washers and 4 dryers in a small laundry room. They work just fine but nothing fancy. You buy a reloadable card and need a credit or debit card to reload it from the kiosk in the lobby (1$ fee for that). Each load is like 2$ or $2.50 when you scan your card at the washers/dryers.
There is a small mail room in the lobby, and a Parcel locker that Canada post will deliver to if no signature is required. The management does not accept or hold parcels, nor do they let FedEx, or UPS in the building. Those couriers must be buzzed in by you.
Management is fine. I've never had any major issues here. The dishwasher broke and they put a brand new one in within a few days. Same thing with the bathroom sink, they just replaced it with a nice new one.
I would give the building a higher star rating if there were cameras and some greater care put into maintenance and cleanliness. Some stricter rules would also help that, but its really fine as long you are mindful and respectful of your neighbours. Most people in the building are quite nice so feel free to say hello. All different races and backgrounds here, many recent immigrants as well.

I give five stars. Corina the on site manager was awesome she was very personable and helpful and efficient with booking viewing and applying for a suite at Burnside. I loved the suite and the rental rate and terms are very reasonable and having to get insurance for your suite is a smart move and should be a part of your rental expenses, that a tenant should always gets Insurance on there suite and contents. I did not get the suite unfortunately. I was hopeful but as there were other applications ahead of mine I knew my chances were not that good. The process that is used is very fair so I can not complain. Thank you.
