attended a concert here and found everything to be very clean and the staff to be efficient, friendly and helpful.
view of the stage from dress circle was good. seats comfortable.
decor was beautiful throughout the building
We watched Dear Evan Hansen at Queen Elizabeth Theatre last night and it was an awesome show! So glad it was hosted at a nicer and newer facility! This definitely added to the overall experience.
Here's the PROS and the CONS.
PROS:
-entrance process went in smoothly
-there were a couple of concession stands to buy snacks and drinks
-parking available underground
-comfortable seats
CONS:
-entrance didn't have security for bag checks
-only 2 washrooms that I seen on the ground floor, this created huge lineups
-parking cost $16 from 7pm to 11pm (night price - usually it costs $5/hour)
The venue is great. Absolutely no complaints with it so far. I've been here a few times for various comedy shows. It's clean, the ushers are super friendly, and parking is close! My only issue is with the security walking up and down the isles DURING the shows hunting for people using their phones. It's extremely distracting. I had mezzanine seating which had a GREAT view for the price, but the security guards were constantly walking around in front of us and talking to each other. I get they're trying to do their jobs but is there literally no other place they could stand??? Or at least sit? Regardless, it was SO excessive and unnecessary.
The "Queen E (as locals refer to it)" is a centrally situated live theater venue in the heart of downtown Vancouver. While it seats approximately 3,000 people, there isn't a bad seat in the house. In addition, the seats are very comfortable. After shows, there are numerous exits, making for easy egress. There is also a Cactus Club Restaurant on the grounds. In my opinion, this theatre is "First Class +++!"
