Heritage Building Repairs. Ryan and his team repaired and painted the gable fascia boards and cedar shingles of our heritage listed church building, repaired the belfry, cleaned, coated and reinstalled the bell, installed a new cross and added insulation. The aspects of Extraordinary League's service which really stood out were - workmanship was incredible, the understanding of heritage values, advice to us on how to enhance heritage value while the project was underway, ability to source and work with heritage compatible materials, sensitivity to budget constraints, encouragement of participation and working as a team with our building stewards and volunteer undertaking specific tasks, and preparedness to consult with the diverse persons involved in building projects in a small parish church.
We will not hesitate to have Extraordinary League back for the projects we have planned in the future.
In 2012, Ryan and his team transformed our 10,000 sqft office into the beautiful space it is today. Since our office is in a heritage building Gastown (322 Water St.), EXLE helped us navigate through the special care needed when working with an heritage building.
His team walked us through the whole process, providing different options, while staying within our budget. Throughout the whole process, I felt that I was confident with the outcome of my decisions based on EXLE's expertise. I was definitely not disappointed.
Our renovation included demolition, creation of new rooms, glass partitions, fully redone kitchens, bathrooms, new electrical, updated networking and beautiful living edge tables.
From demolition to finishing touches, Ryan and his team delivered only the very best quality and service. I would definitely recommend EXLE to anyone else looking for high quality service and professionalism.
We were very pleased with the caliber of work that Extraordinary League provided us in the complete renovation of our 100 year old house. We started our renovation with a different well known general contractor that claimed to be specialists in both new construction and renovations. After nearly a year of working with that other contractor, it became sadly evident that our project was completely out of their capacity in terms of trades, scheduling and materials. Unlike new construction, renovating a house of our era required a great deal of problem solving, customization, continual consideration of how best to achieve the desired end product and a true appreciation for the character of an historic house. Without a doubt, Ryan and his crew at EXLE were perfectly suited to such an undertaking.
After terminating our relationship with our initial contractor, we were lucky enough to land EXLE to not only correct the mistakes of our previous contractor, but to complete our project the way we had envisioned it. Ryan very quickly earned our trust and confidence…. which was not easy given our bad experience with our first contractor. Ryan demonstrated a genuine desire to do the job right – there was no cutting corners. We were very demanding clients, but Ryan exceeded our expectations in terms of his professionalism; project management; meeting budget and schedule; and doing high quality work. Likewise, Ryan ensures that his crew and all sub trades hold his high level of workmanship and pride in what they do. We would hire him again in a heartbeat and we would absolutely recommend him to others.
Working with Ryan Bahris and Extraordinary League Contracting for our heritage restoration of 430 Princess Ave was a breath of fresh air. After two years of working with ineffective contractors and struggling to navigate the city’s Heritage Revitalization Act (HRA) and permitting process, we were fortunate enough to be introduced to Ryan and his team. They immediately took charge and provided honest, high quality and competitively priced contracting work. Ryan was also adept at negotiating and responding to the city’s heritage requirements while finding resourceful and cost effective solutions.
The final product of their work was unanimously described as “high quality craftsmanship” to all parties involved in the properties development and the house was subsequently sold for a premium price. EXLE is top on my list of contractors in Vancouver and I have no hesitation in recommending them for all renovation and property development projects large and small.
We had our house interior completely renovated down to the studs back in 2011. The EXLE team was very helpful during the renovation project. They provided many choices for each discipline work (e.g. plumbing, electrical, dry wall, roofing), walked us through the pros and cons of various choices and assisted us in making decisions. They also have worked with many professionals (e.g. interior designers, architect, structural engineer) that are extremely knowledgeable of the design work process and permitting process. They are also very responsive in providing post-renovation services. For two years in a row, we had some warranty repair work that were needed and the EXLE manager was extremely helpful and responsive in assisting us to arrange the warranty work to be completed promptly by the original installer/subcontractor.
