The Crow & Gate Pub, Nanaimo

This place is situated in such a beautiful spot. Authentic English pub with amazing food. After reading the reviews I got the beef dip with smoked salmon chowder and it was probably the best I've ever had. Staff were super friendly. I almost want to do a trip back just for this place.

We are from another city. Chose this place for unusual but appealing menu. Very good food. Friendly staff. Lovely garden setting and cozy fireplaces for a rainy day. Picnic tables outside. I was disappointed over the plain menu on a blackboard - would prefer the online menu that gives description .

A great English Pub on Vancouver Island. It has a cozy atmosphere and great food. The menu is simple but has enough choices to please pretty much everyone, including vegetarian.
The staff is friendly and do their best to keep up with the changing crowd.
It can get quite busy so patience is well rewarded by the great meal.
You order your meal at the bar and pick up your drinks there, pick a seat inside or out in the garden and enjoy the unique atmosphere.
We have been many times and will come back again.

Lovely English pub styled restaurant/pub. Beautiful setting, friendly service, indoor/outdoor seating.

As it is a pub, you are required to be 19+ to be served. Orders are placed at the window inside- and the food is brought to you.

We have been here twice. The food we ordered was delicious both times-bangers and mash, a meat pie, and a platter with cheese and smoked salmon.

In the warmer months you can tour the gardens as you wait for your meal.

They also have a great selection on tap of beers and ciders.
