Fantastic bread available on Gabriola at the Village food market and farmers market.
QUALITY and LOCALLY produced .. fair priced!
Best scone we've ever had accompanied by rad music
You can find Slow Rise breads and baked goods at Village Food supermarket, and he also has a stall at the Saturday market.
GREAT products: rustic baguettes, foccacia covered with olives and onions, rye loaf that weighs a ton, scones bursting with ginger, berries, chocolate. And my latest discovery: his chocolate panini. MmmmmMmmm!
Slowrise Bakery's bread (and scones and granola) is just the best. They use organic ingredients and bake it in a clay oven (accompanied by nice music!). It smells wonderful, reminds me of german bread which I love and is absolutely addictive - you try it once and you can never go back to regular store-bought bread. They also have many (unusual) varieties. Best part of it: I can order in the middle of the night via email and pick it up the next morning freshly waiting for me at the bakery (you may not be so lucky and live close by).
