I have dealt with Mike for 2 small excavation projects and he has been excellent to deal with. On budget and completed when he said it would be both times.

Working with Mike was great, his services are top notch and he is a real professional, really knows his stuff.

It's really hard to look up an excavation company in Nanaimo. By that I don't mean there are none. But they aren't exactly "internet" savvy. That's why i'm posting this review. It was hard to find a company I could trust. There are hardly any reviews up for any excavation company in Nanaimo. So I was obviously concerned. This review is to hopefully quell your fears if only ever so slightly.

The story:
I needed to dig a simple 5' deep rectangle for my new home addition. So I began searching early April. Got a couple of quotes ranging from $5000-9000 and a majority of them did not respond to my emails. I obviously went with the 5000 company (note this was NOT city wide demolition but another company). After about a month of emails going back and forth and meeting in person, when the time came to arrange a date for the dig, they began dodging my emails. I eventually called and they had told me they were overbooked and suggested I try elsewhere or wait a month or 2. I was pretty upset because i had wasted about a month searching when i could be digging. We were nearing the end of April. I quickly found city wide demolition and called them almost immediately. Jason (the head honcho) said he'd come by to take a look at the property and give me a firm quote after, this was around Thursday-Friday. On Monday or Tuesday he got back to me and gave me a quote at around 6000-ish. I told him I had received a quote earlier for 5000. He crunched some numbers and got to around 5200+ for the dig. This was more than reasonable and I was tired of waiting. After a couple of days of Q/A I decided to go on their services, signed a paper and arranged for an early May dig (about a week from the agreement). The dig date got pushed back about a week because of rain but Jason assured me they would get right on it. He came on a Saturday, the moment the landfill sites were open and began work. He finished the main dig that day but said he would be back on Tuesday (it was Victoria day weekend) to touch up the site and make sure it was to spec. He arrived Tuesday finished up the rest in about 2 hours and had his secretary send me an invoice. It came up exactly as quoted. no hidden charges and I paid the entirety only after the job was completed.

They are true professionals. I came here for building demolition services and they did what I was expected. I liked the way the contractors helped me to understand and proceed through the deal. It was affordable and they are too much experienced.
