Mitchell's Canoe, Kayak & SUP, Sales and Rentals

Christie was incredibly helpful as she guided us first-time canoe renters to all the things we needed (though she did not over-sell). The gear was high-quality and we had zero issues. Christie's website was also helpful as we learned how to portage. Our canoe adventure was smooth and enjoyable thanks to Mitchell's!

I recently completed the Powell Forest Canoe Route - we only did a portion of the route. We were a group of 5 adults and 5 teenagers. The teens were working on the Duke of Edinburgh Adventure Journey.

I previously did a portion of this Canoe Route in 2017 so there was no doubt that I was going to rent canoes again from Mitchell's. Back in 2017 and now in 2022, the process is simple and straight forward. Somethings changed over the last 5 years, but Christie responded to my various emails. I was reaching out to her in early spring, when her business is slow and she takes time off, and she still responded to me and my messages in a timely manner.

Mitchell's offers a great price for the rental and the equipment is well maintained. It was easy enough to arrange transportation to our start/finish point as the transport company, Sasquatch Trails, works closely with Mitchell's.

I do have plans to go back to Powell Forest Canoe Route and I will use Mitchell again to arrange the canoe equipment rental.

They were very organized and as promised would always respond to me emails. The trip around Powell Lake Canoe / Portaging route was made very easy and in pairing with Sasquatch rentals was an excellent trip. They provided everything promised and we're really great about providing us with the necessary details to have a great trip. I would without a doubt tell people to rent from them if they were to ever go and do this trip. The canoes that were rented to us we're really great and we had no issues. Easy 5 stars.

First of all we had a wonderful canoe trip in mid September. The weather on our first day was quite bad but together with Christie we decided that it was best to start the next day and come back a day later at no extra cost. Also our rented equipment and our canoe were in great condition.
Therefore pricing is very fair and reasonable. Christie is very caring and accommodating. We saw a black bear close to Beaver Lake which was awesome!

The Powell River lake route is amazing back country, quiet and beautiful.
