Overall a nice place to rent from. We rented 3 double kayaks, but unfortunately we realised one of the kayaks was leaking within the first few hours. They brought us a replacement kayak half way through our destination and replaced it.
Other than that the rest was smooth.

Fantastic experience all around! We did the 5 day vacation camping kayak. Keegan was a great guide and led us on a safe and fun trip! He adjusted to our skills and physical abilities well. He also prepared fantastic meals along the way! Highly recommend.

We've rented from here many times for trips into Desolation Sound.

Their kayaks have been so reliable, well equipped, and spacious for 3+ day kayak adventures. Equipment is all ready for when you arrive, and they are so helpful when you get back!

Super friendly staff and convenient location easy access to the Sound, and can paddle deeper into with enough skill! Definitely recommend booking their kayaks for self organized trips, and I look forward to returning next year.

Have just returned from a 3-day self guided kayak trip in Desolation Sound, renting 8 kayaks from Powell River Sea Kayaks. It was an all round great experience. Their online booking system works well. I also got good service and advice over the phone. When we arrived in the morning, the kayaks were all laid out on the grass ready to go. Briefing was nice and short - they trusted that we knew what we were doing. It was nice they came and helped us carry gear on our return as well. Emily was especially friendly/helpful.

We recently did a self-guided 2 night paddling trip in Desolation Sound and we rented kayaks and equipment from Powell River Kayaks in Okeover. Our group was mixed experience and none of us had ever been to this area before so I called Powell River Kayaks a few times before the trip to talk to them about the route planning, campsites, and weather. They we're always incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. We had a problem with one of the kayaks and their staff handled it quickly and professionally – I would highly recommend them. On the days that we picked up and dropped off the equipment the experience was great!
