This place with an old "house" and some mining equipments and a big sign "Bralorne Museum" IT IS NOT THE MUSEUM. There is an open area museum and The new museum is down the street in a new building. We had an amazing history class there. Unfortunately, I forgot the lady's name. She was so nice. Showed us old maps and told us the story of the city. I visited it in a Saturday afternoon. There is no fee for checking the museum out, but it is nice filling up their donations jar.
The museum was not open when we were there but it looks very interesting inside. Hopefully next time we are there during the days that they are open. The surrounding houses and buildings are a lot like a living museum. Time travelled from the past and preserved for the present. Very enjoyable strolling around and we only scratched the surface! Next time we make more time to explore deeper.
Please note that this location is for the new museum (not yet opened as of July 19, 2018). The open-air equipment museum and labyrinth are further along the road (look for the "M" (museum) sign). The open-air part was accessible but not staffed as of this date. Worth a stop if you're in the area.
The great spot to learn about the history of Bralorne and Gold Bridge
When it's open this is a real gem for people interested in antiques, mines, time travelers and the BC Gold Rush. There is a labrynth outside in a field with some old train artifacts and a babbling brook where you can have a picnic. So peaceful, at the end of the road.
