Toybox Storage

I stored stuff here for several years in a 20 ft outside container and I was largely happy with my experience. The pricing was competitive for the area and storage provided, and the containers are in good shape with nice sturdy wooden floors.

The best part is that the owner, Dave, is very responsive and usually replies to emails within a few hours with clear answers. Dave also tried to help us when we lost the key to our unit by cutting the locks off (tip: don't use the secure lock in the lockbox in the center of the door if you might lose your key because it is very difficult to remove these locks).

The main issue I had was that the price of the unit I rented dropped by $25 a couple years after I moved in and the lower price wasn't passed on, so I was paying more than new customers for years. A nice touch would have been to pass on the price drop. I only found out when I moved out. So keep an eye on the price if you are on month-to-month so you can request to be put on the lower price. On the other hand, the unit was also $10 more than what I was paying for a period after I moved in but Dave kept me on the original price, so at least this is symmetric.

Dave sort of implied that I left some junk at the facility after I moved out (I didn't), giving me the chance to fess up by email before he "checked the security cameras". I get that people leaving garbage after move out is probably a recurring issue, but the implication left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth. A more circumspect strategy would be to check the cameras before contacting your customer(s) about whether they were behaving badly.

Still, these two issues wouldn't stop me from considering Toybox in the future.

Convenient containers

After a miscommunication about storage unit size the first thing Dave did was apologize and offer a refund or free upgrade! Great guy to deal with!!!

I would highly recommend Toy Box Self Storage. Dave the owner was incredibly helpful throughout the entire transaction, from first queries to my last payment. He really went out of his way to get me everything I needed and he gave me lots of extra advice. He answered my queries very fast, every time and was punctual and efficient with my accounts and sorting my luggage for storage.
I was worried about handing over all my belongings to a business but I have every ounce of trust in Toy Box Storage because everything was returned exactly how I brought it to them. This is a high quality, trustworthy and professional business. Toy box storage really goes the extra mile for you, definitely a business I would be very happy to deal with again. Thank you, Jenni
