The 4 km hike was a joy spent walking in the woods. The moving whirlpool and standing waves at noon time low ebb tide were fascinating to watch. Recommend to pack up a small lunch and have it at the viewpoint.
A long walk, but worth it! It's a magical forest - lots to look at! Best time to go see the Rapids is at the highest tides. Be sure to take the path to the Roland Lookout Point of you want to be close to the Rapids. Bring water and snacks and enjoy the "show" from the kayak surfers.
A great way to spend an afternoonm. A short 45 minute hike in will lead you to the perfect backdrop for a post card. There is a amazing little bakery at the start of the trail which is highly recommended. The trail is very well kept and suitable for all ages.
Very cool and unique natural wonder. We didn't go kayaking like the brave souls we saw after our relatively short and easy hike there from the parking lot but would have loved it cause it looked really fun. Especially cool even though we didn't go during the peak hours.
This easy hike is worth it if you are in the area. We explored both the view points - North and Roland. Timed it well to watch the night waves but nothing. Guess its hit or miss. The sealife in Roland point was pretty cool, beautiful purple starfish, sea urchins and cool barnacles. The whirlpool was just okay. Not worth the hype at all, especially driving 30 minutes out of the way to do this.
