“Access to the park is easy. It is pavement all the way. Signage is adequate. The Parameter roads are gravel and big rig friendly. This park is right in the city so groceries etc are five minutes away by automobile. Check in was quick and easy and the clerk was very pleasant.. Our site, 10, was a pull through that was more than long enough for our rig and towed. It was a level, graveled site with a table but NO fire pit. The table sat on a concrete pad but not big enough to be considered a patio. Services were to the left rear and many sites had dual sewer connections. One further forward so one wouldn't have to add or stretch hoses. Be sure you have a water pressure regulator. The system is listed as having 100psi. It could cause some damage to your plumbing if you don't. It is clearly posted and you are informed at check in. Internet was included in the cost of the site. It worked well enough for e mail and light browsing. We found only one OTA TV. Satellite could be difficult because of the trees. Distance between sites is good for an urban park but there is no foliage for a break The park features grass between sites, large trees and planters with beautiful flowers scattered about. This park was clean and well groomed. We did not use the free showers or flush toilets but they were very clean. The office offers a good book and CD exchange. We paid $39.00 per night with no discounts and we feel that we received good value. We would return if in the area.”

“Great campground central to Canada's parks. We had a site with a shelter and plenty of space for two tents. The restroom/shower was clean and coin laundry was on site. Water spigots were conveniently located for non-hook ups sites. WiFi is provided. The staff was very friendly as were the other campers in this smaller campground. I would camp their again for sure.”

“One of the nicest campsites that we’ve ever been to! Dog friendly, lovely owners, games, a communal fire pit, and tons of extra (like a canoe to borrow) tucked all over the property.”

“One of the nicest campsite we have ever been to. Zoe went above and beyond to accommodate us after a small hiccup - she was great! Although our site wasn’t right by the ocean, we actually preferred this since the inland sites feel more private (and the ocean is just a short walk away). Thank you for making our stay on Quadra Island so memorable.”

“Haven't camped here but done lots of hiking here. Good waterfalls to be seen. Some faces to climb with bouldering nearby. Lake is great. Clean and clear water. Decent beach and handy little business selling treats and food like burgers and fries. Gets a tad busy during summer and weekends but usually always room to enjoy if you get there at a decent time.”

“Pretty nice spot, camp sites are meh and pretty close together. They have no portable water which would have been good to know as I was on a motorcycle and can only carry so much. I was expecting g to fill my water when I got there. Luckily I had the technology to filter water so I pulled from a nearby stream. Staff was really friendly and helpful, especially the front desk girl. Owned by the local First Nation, so I was happy to support the business. Still pretty rough, but the place has a lot of potential.”

“We wanted to be away from the hustle and bustle of the city and finding this campsite last minute was a gamble. We decided to book for two weeks for partial hook up. Prior to booking we called them and asked for internet speed as we both had to work on line. They kindly checked the speed and we figured it will be good for us. The full hook ups on the top are a little bare and gravelly, but where we are at the lower level is very nice. Not a lot of trees on the site, which make them nice and bright and spacious, the sites are huge, so you have lots of space. If you want to be in the woods then this campsite is not for you. But if you want the quietness and vastness of just being in the presence of crickets, beautiful bees, and occasional hummingbirds this is a perfect spot. The staff are so amazing, the bathrooms are super clean, the campsite is not fully booked which I personally like because it feels like we are surrounded by quiet field. It is only 15 minutes walk from town, the river is literally 5 minutes walk over the bridge. This is a hidden gem, and as much as I love for it to remain hidden from those who wrote stupid reviews and complained about petty things, but I like to see it busier, because I want these guys to be able to thrive so I can come back here again. ♥️ 💖 ❤️. At the moment I am sitting in the sunshine and sipping my morning coffee and loving this place.”

“We had campsite E40, right on the lakeside. It's one of the better ones with nice access to the lake. 38-44 have nice little beach coves, the other sites have steeper and rockier lakefront. The sites are nice and big but do lack privacy, however that's to be expected at such a place. The playground for kids is great and the public beach and picnic area are super big and inviting. There are also trails for hiking and walking your dogs at both the west and east ends of the campground as well as plenty of little trails woven through the woods around the sites.”

“The area for riding is the draw here. Cindy is pleasant and her dogs keep the area safe. I stayed twice in a season for a total of 15 days. I enjoyed the access to bar-b-ques and the Saggy sac saloon could be fun depending on who's all there. It's a different campground for motorcycle enthusiasts and I like to pop in and say hello while out in the Kootenays. The men's showers are way nicer than the women's, but it's minor.”

“2 of the best business' owners I know they work with any one. I have been in and out as life changes for me and they always find a way to fit me in I have been here like 20 times in 26 years in my life to live here. On top of that they do well with my mother who struggles with socialization and they always find a way to make it work out. She can be hard to work with when angry but they find a way. The residents will go the extra mile to help u out just give them a chance. Don't let looks of old rv make u feel different the locals recycle, reuse and repair anything a example of close community's. Just remember to drive slow because dust is a issue on everything and children play lots. Resident much appreciate it. Who knows maybe u will make a friend for life here.”

“One of the best camping spots around. Pet friendly, close to river, bathrooms, they sell ice & firewood, offer trailer rentals. Far enough out of city it's nice & relaxing but not so far out if you forget something you cant get to nearest town. Very relaxing place to stay, owners are fantastic people!”

“Great place to stay, clean and friendly, the cabins are so nice and its so close to the beach. The owners are so helpful, laundry on site, keep the place tip top. At night when the sun sets, the sky is just amazing for star gazing, walk down to the beach and meet some locals or other travelers, have a fire and listen to the waves roll up the beach. When the tide is out, walk river to river along the shore and hunt for shells and other treasures.”

“My partner and I had the privilege of staying here during our winter break, and wow aren't we glad we did! We got so much more than we bargained for. Between the enchanting sauna and lake access, the beautiful (and challenging) disc golf course, and the freedom to roam around the farm, we ended up having a wonderful getaway. The rural setting is relaxing and quiet. The guesthouse had lots of room for living, a well equipped kitchen, and a very cute and comfortable loft for sleeping. Will be back for sure! Thank you!”

“Great location! Right off the road, a small strip of campgrounds. The sites are very close together with some having a couple trees inbetween them. The lake is beautiful! Sandy beach right from your campground to the lake. Would definitely go back. Very few Mosquitos in September but lots of bees. Very windy!”

“Words cannot express how amazing this place is. Immediately upon arrival it was calming and relaxing; even before meeting the owners. It was more of a calming visit with friends than just a simple getaway. The entire visit was just pure joy and contentment filled with smiles, gorgeous views and the best sleep I've had in ages. We will certainly visit again and make this a regular place to recharge and energize!”

“Incredible views! The tide pools are really something to behold. Very well maintained facilities as well. Definitely worth a visit! The campgrounds are clean and level, great for tent camping and RVs alike. There is also an area for RVs to empty their water tanks and fill back up again (though there is a $5 discharge fee, only payable with loonies and toonies, so make sure you bring change.)”

“Such a nice place no service camp ground but have good generator hours. You need it due to it always seeming to get hot at 4 and its nice to run ac. Real nice boat launch but no docks so u need to pull your boat at night or find open beach to park. Wind always seems to blow at 3 for a couple hours. Awesome sandy beaches and great swimming. Gets deep fast but not so fast kids can use it. A little store on site for ice and ice cream. Some essentials but not much”

“This place has rustic cabins and wood stoves set on a lake full of trout and lots of mountain scenery. There is no phone service which is bonus for me. Just sit back and enjoy the peaceful views. They have boat and fishing rod rentals and in the winter ice augers. Each cabin has its own private out house or a short walk to the washroom and showers. You have to do dishes at the dish pit on the side of the shower house. They supply dishes, pots, pans and utensils. There is a fridge, propane stove and electric coffee pot. Bring your own sleeping bags and pillows. Enjoy your stay.”

“Campground is in a great spot. The river view sites have a great view and are close to some hiking trails. There bathrooms/ showers were always kept very clean and the showers are free. The kids loved the pool. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because it's getting on the expensive side for a campsite.”

“Clean lake water and a very good lake for children to play. The parking lot is also wide. There are rock wool sculptures, so I hope you find them as well. The best place for swimming and paddling. It's about 2 hours and 40 minutes from Victoria, so it's a pity that I can't go often.”

“Our experience with Sunshine was great ! Gord who did the orientation with us was an awesome guy! We took the sunbreezer house boat for 4 nights and was newly renovated so that was a plus and on our first night we were all new to house boating so didn’t know much about it and didn’t have any lights out first night so in the morning we had someone come out and all he did was flip a switch in the engine bay. It was late too so couldn’t call anyone. Everything was perfect after that until we got hit with a wind storm the second night and we ended up loosing a stake luckily someone saw us and brought us a new one (you’ll get charged for $50 and won’t know till the end of your vacation. Talked to someone on the phone about it and said I didn’t think that was our fault so she was nice enough to drop it to $25) with the wind storm we were getting rain too and the bunk room has a water leak from the light on the roof in there which is also a safety hazard for passengers plus all your clothes and stuff gets wet on the top bunk. Following into the 3rd day with all the rain going on we couldn’t get our generator going luckily Gord came out and got us a new one. We did have a small accident that no one knew about that scuffed the paint off the wall in the back of the boat which did cost a $100 for them to paint over. (I’m assuming this because any other damage in the boat was just painted over previously) Our last night it got pretty cold on the lake and someone closed the window in a room and and the window shattered and will cost ya $250 and that’s totally fine but we should’ve known to do our own inspection first because anything could’ve been wrong in there maybe there was a small crack in it already. Other than that the experience with Sunshine was great everyone had a good time and we’re very thankful for this.”

“We had a lovely stay at Rivers Edge Ranch. The host was friendly and accommodating. We got two spots backing on to the river with water and power hookups. The Highway runs along the length of the property so it could get a little noisy but the view was gorgeous. The river is clean and clear for swimming or wading. We put our chairs in the water and soaked our feet to keep cool. We had an RV so used our awning for shade. There are no trees though so bring a canopy or something if you’re renting. We enjoyed our time here a lot.”

“Staying at Roland’s place is one of the best experiences I ever had. Roland and Udete are fantastic hosts. But what is more important: They live a lifestyle that really makes you rethink many things. Sustainable off-grid living at its best. Unfortunately we only had 3 nights at this place. One week would make more sense. There are chipmunks, squirrels, herons and other animals on the property. If you are used to walking in the nature there are also very nice walks. I hope this beautiful place remains as it is. We will revisit if we can. Regarding the road: I would personally recommend and SUV to get there (or real 4x4). If you want the real chilcotlin experience: Stay here!”

“Wish I found out about Ridgeview Resort sooner!!! What a beautiful place to spend a relaxing vacation! We booked vacation home #60 for 4 nights in late September. The staff was amazing and the facilities were fantastic! This resort has it all and the activities never stop. The Rec Centre has a banquet room, games room, library, movie room, clean pool and a hot tub that is nice and toasty hot! We will be coming back next summer!! The house was amazing and was huge!! It really felt like a home and had everything you would need to bake cookies or a cake and even had a Turkey roaster! This is an ideal place to spend the holidays with family! We had an amazing experience and can’t wait to go back! Definitely check out their website!”
