(August 10, 2018, 6:50 pm)I typically prefer doing my own repairs to my car, and if I do need anything professional done, I would use a local shop, never a "chain" shop.
I went to Minute Muffler simply because I had an exhaust leak, and assumed that any shop with the word "muffler" in their name would specialize in exhaust systems and would possibly have the flex pipe needed on hand.
They did not, but the mechanic made the suggestion I was hoping he would, (i am an air brake mech myself, and am mechanically inclined) that we could cut the piece out and weld a new segment in. Any independent mechanic would have suggested this. Any mechanic who calls himself a mechanic would have suggested this. Good work, in an out in an hour. $110 an hour for the labour, the price is on the wall when you walk in.
Oh yeah, and the guy at the counter was a pretty cool guy too haha -

(July 6, 2018, 4:47 pm)Before we moved to Ontario, I brought my cars here all the time. They do good work at reasonable prices and don't over charge or upsell. We brought our van in on a trip back to Winnipeg . They did a quick diagnosis. Since it wasn't a major problem, they didn't charge me. They could have turned it into a much bigger much more expensive job. I wish I could find a shop I trusted as much where we live now.
