Idol Asian Cuisine - Hot Pot, BBQ, Szechuan Dishes

I want to give it a high review, but I cant. The food options were limited since they were out of so many items. What they did have in stock was very delicious though. The beef was incredible tender, chicken outrageously spicy, and rice was perfectly sticky. However, the cleanliness upon further investigation was lacking. Tables not cleared off, bathroom were deplorable and the hot pot controls were clearly not sanitized. If the food reflected the cleanliness then this place would be amazing.

Awesome laid back and relaxing atmosphere and the staff and owner were super friendly and helpful. Also loved the menu option for the Korean BBQ and hotpot

It's all you can eat for $26.95 + tax per person. Think there might be a discount of 10% if you are paying in cash.
Communication wasn't the easiest. They speak Mandarin and gave us a sheet in Chinese. Neither my friend nor I can read it so it was kind of useless.
I got my own water cause I didn't know where the server was for a long time.
Later though the refills of beef and lamb were quick enough but the beef was like sand papery which is different from the smooth stuff we are used to when we buy meat for hot pot at home.

The tomato base was good. You can have 2 bases. The other we chose was the tonic.
The seafood balls were way better than the meat ones. There was one I just couldn't stomach...
The vegetables were eh in freshness but I liked the enoki.
For not being that hungry the price point here is really high especially for lunch. They don't have a separation for lunch and dinner. They do have clams, mussels and squid so there is an OK amount of seafood. No fish though.
There was also a selection of pickled items that we didn't try.
The sauce I made was excellent (garlic, green onion, soy, cilantro, cumin) but the station looked a bit ghetto.
Lots of things aren't explained so we kind of floundered around a bit.
Server never asked us about drinks in the end. Not sure if soft drinks are included because we got cups and there's a self serve machine... But she didn't explain it...
