Thanks to their scheduling I was able to come in on a Saturday morning.
All staff are caring and professional, from intake to exit. They helped alleviate my anxiety of having two teeth removed.
The building is new and very clean inside and out.
5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ to everyone involved!
Thank you again.
Great staff. Had all 4 wisdom teeth removed this morning by Dr. Stoykewich. Very pleased. Very little to no pain when I came too from anesthesia. There was a nurse beside me from the time I entered the operating room till I left. One nurse talked with me and keeping me spirits up before the operation began (easing my axiety). Answering all sorts of questions. Treated me like a person and not just a patient. Overall very pleased with my experience.
I had my two lower wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Canosa in March 2018 and was very pleased with my experience, despite my fear of dental work.
I was extremely anxious about getting my teeth removed before my appointment. Dr. Canosa answered my questions and reassured me at the consultation appointment as well as right before the surgery and he was gentle, patient, understanding and kind, which I appreciated.
I opted for IV sedation due to my anxiety levels and it went very well. The anesthesiologist managed to make me laugh during the process and seconds later, I don't remember anything and was completely out for the procedure. I woke up in the recovery area in a comfortable chair with gauze in my mouth and stitches where the teeth were what felt like minutes later but it had actually been an hour. I remembered nothing about the surgery, which was fabulous. Dr. Canosa and a nurse came to check on me while recovering and said everything had gone smoothly. I was still pretty out of it but was able to go home within half an hour and was given a prescription for pain meds, anti inflammatories and an antibiotic. The after care instructions were explained in detail to my mom and I.
Honestly, the surgery was the easy part and such a breeze with Dr. Canosa's team. Recovery was more challenging, as I was unable to eat anything for a week (liquids-only) due to pain and swelling, was nauseous and dizzy from the meds and anesthetic and was in a lot of pain for a few days. Thankfully though, everything has since healed nicely and it was just the first week that was rough. Make sure to follow the post-op instructions they give you (lots of ice packs during the first two days to reduce swelling, rinsing your mouth with salt water often, etc.) to help speed up the healing. They give you lots of gauze pads and a little syringe to clean out the holes (which comes in very handy). I didn't have the chipmunk cheeks and constantly had ice on my face for the first two days. I re-visited Dr. Canosa twice during the first two weeks after surgery for pain relief and he stuffed the tooth holes with a mixture of herbs (they tasted terrible for the first bit but helped numb the pain and fell out a few days later).
I would recommend the Oral Surgery Group and Dr. Canosa for getting wisdom teeth removed. Their office (Main Street location) is modern, beautiful and clean with a comfortable waiting area. The staff are professional and friendly. They don't direct bill to your insurance, but they do submit the claim on your behalf and I was reimbursed within days, so I wasn't out that large chunk of money for very long. They do great work! Thank you for a better experience than what I was expecting and for doing your best to help me relax and make the best of a scary situation.
So I got out of a surgery yesterday, not remembering a damn thing, when I got there I was honestly scared because someone had just taken a screw driver to my mouth so obviously I was nervous about having even a professional extract what was left of my 3 back molars. But you know what, the nurses knew I was scared, and so did the ladies up front. Tara, one of the receptionists, was answering all my stupid questions, and making alot of jokes with me (keep in mind I do customer service and am also a salesmen, so its not hard to make jokes and like me) but honestly if it wasn't for the staff, I would have hated the entire thing. But above all else, they made absolutely sure, I was safe, that all my possessions were fine and that nothing was left behind, and when I called in to ask more questions, they remembered me and genuinely were happy to hear from me and make sure I felt as confident as possible about everything. Its that kind of care, that honestly if anyone's ever scared about an oral surgery, this is THEE place to go because they are not only trained, but they will do everything they can to make you feel at home, safe and well taken care of, and trust me after getting tortured, and then having to get someone else to dig around in my mouth, the last thing I wanted was for someone else to be anywhere near my teeth, yet they completely changed my mind set, thank you everyone, and know I will always send people your way!
