Best community place in the city. Had a gathering for over 50 people. The sound system was an awesome, excellent sitting arrangement, toilets were clean and nice. Superb!!
This is a religious place of worship. The biggest mosque in Manitoba, apart of the oldest Islamic Association, called the MIA. They'll celebrate 50 years, this year.
They offer programs for the general public, both educational and fun, partnering with other organizations to bring fun, quality programs. They have something for the whole family. They also host open houses, inviting people for tours and info sessions, their famous Foodorama and other events like community breakfast.
I would like work over there to become a Sheikh & for other stuff too.
One of the largest mosques and Muslim community center in the country. The facility has a lot of amenities; Basketball court, gym, kitchen and storage spaces are but a few. Established in the 1960s, the association since then has been active even outside its immediate muslim members, building ties with other communities. The place is maintained and managed by some retaining staff, as well as an executive team who are elected on an yearly basis.
I can say that apart from prayers and the immediate facilities open to all, the place is very well suited to host major Islamic and general community based events. So far the events I have attended which included a Family BBQ and Lectures, have been well organized and take advantage of the spacious premises to give a wonderful experience. If you are in the area and especially if you live close by, I recommend that you visit and inquire about any community events that maybe coming so you can attend. The people are very inclusive of everybody and would really appreciate you attending. Not to mention it will be a fun experience for you as well, since you will get to partake in socializing in events and engaging with friendly people from different backgrounds, cultures and ethnicities.
