Went to see the last Super Moon of the year. Interpretive talk was interesting and informative with some humour ???? but then we went on the roof to view the night sky with two very informed speakers who used an absolutely amazing telescope and a professional laser pointer to show us the sky in amazing detail. I would recommend their sessions to anyone.
Interesting place to learn and see some of North Americans water fowl.
A great place to get hands on with nature, learn about the importance of wildlife. They have some fantastic group programming as well.
Had the opportunity to see the opening of a new exhibit "Wetlands at night" that opened December 18, 2018. Havent been here since I was a kid. What a lovely refresh on what manitoba has to offer. Thank you Baldwin family for the ability to be there for the grand opening of the exhibit and a walk down memory lane. Will be back for sure.
A fabulous "window" on Nature and "the Prairies".
The "interpretive centre", open year round, is the "hub" of this large nature preserve. There is about 36 KM2 in the "Reserve" as well as many hiking trails. The trails allow one to see/experience some of the last remaining prairie in its "Natural State"-- as well as the 25 species of mammals and 300+ species of birds. The Marsh also is visited, during migration periods, by hundreds of thousands of birds daily. The interpretive centre features interactive displays and an enjoyable restaurant. Its well worth a visit-- either with a family or alone.
I hope that this Review has been helpful.
