I can't say enough positive things about our stay at Journey Home Artist Retreat. Hosts are exceptional people, who provide a spiritually enriching environment that is restful, thought-provoking, and restorative. Walks along the river and through their beautiful, well-tended acreage, lovely accommodations (the Mongolian yurt), fantastic meals, visits with the cats (and briefly the dogs), and conversations with our warm, generous hosts made this experience a memorable one, and something I'll be looking forward to repeating in the future. Feeling blessed after our recent visit. Thank you, Robert and Sherry!
If you're travelling to Manitoba, this is the place to stay and experience.
If you are from Manitoba and need to reconnect to yourself and have a relaxing and meaningful time, this is a wonderful place!
We spent three nights with Robert and Sherry. We came as guests and left as a family. Sherry’s cooking was a culinary unique experience filled with amazing, variety and tasty meals. While staying, we spent time with Robert, carving soapstone, which was an eye opener and an ability to connect with art. The activity invoked creativity, art skill learning and having fun. Their hospitality went above and beyond. Definitely a place to come again. Highly recommended.
Robert and Sherry are fabulous hosts, incredibly accommodating. Staying here feels like a home away from home. It’s one of my favourite places to kick back, relax, and enjoy a slower pace — at least for a few days!
We had a great experience carving soapstone with Robert and I have never been so consistently full (Sherry kept cooking, I kept eating). The two of them make you feel like family. The yurt guest houses were fun and cozy. A very fun weekend. Thanks!
