I was in Winnipeg for a business trip and wanted to take some customers out for a day on the hard water to try for my first legendary Green Back on Lake Winnipeg. We were fortunate enough to book with Dan and Cat Eye Outfitter. Dan was true to his word, if we were willing we would run and gun for fish all day... and we did. We did not stay set up for much more than 30-40 min in any one spot.
Dan is methodical in his approach to finding and keeping you on the fish.
The day started with a run down of the equipment, the process and the plan for the day. The gear was all top grade, with plenty of back up just in case. Dan walked us through the gear, the lures, why we were using what we were and the concepts.
I have been fortunate enough to have fished with a number of guides over the last few years and Dan is truly in the top 3.
Lots of laughs, great memories and too many fish.
Oh - I should also add, Dan was the most responsive of all the guides when we were trying to book. Dan will be my first call when I make it back to Winnipeg.

My boys and I had a fantastic time ice fishing with Dan on Lake Winnipeg. The trip was everything we had hoped for. The boys both caught 30” walleye and we brought home our limit. Dan is a great guide, very knowledgeable, and we enjoyed his company a lot. He even took the time to teach us how to filet walleye. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and are looking forward to our next adventure with Cat Eye Outfitters.

I have fished and hunted with dozens of different guides across North America and I cannot give enough compliments to Dan from Cat Eye Outfitter. A true gentleman... Dan is kind, humble, punctual and honest. We recently flew to Winnipeg and drove to Selkirk for an ice fishing weekend with Dan. Unfortunately, we struck brutal weather. ie. -25C and windy. Dan was fully prepared with 2 insulated fishing tents and 2 heaters. All Dan's gear is top notch. Excellent rods and reels with new line. Fantastic assortment of lures. Tons of bait. Great dependable snowmobiles. Spending 8 hours in a fishing tent with a stranger is a long time. Dan is very easy to talk to and does what ever he can to make your trip enjoyable and successful. My brother previously fished catfish with Dan in the summer time and had the same experience which lead us to book a winter trip with Dan. I will definitely fish with Dan again!
