My mom recently stayed at Sturgeon Creek 1at the respite suite for 11 days and had a wonderful experience. All the staff and residents were friendly and helpful. Any questions she had, there was always someone on hand to help out. There is always different things you can join in on from entertainment to exercise, games, movies and socializing. She enjoyed the two lovely ladies she had lunch and dinner with great conversation and very welcoming. She’s already talking about going back next time we go away .
Thanks
Heather and Donna
Sturgeon Creek Retirement home has the best staff. The people are wonderful and staff very friendly. They have lots of activities plus a library. They have bistro area for eating when you have guests or grab a cookie and muffin with coffee or tea. They have toast if you want it or bananas, apples and Oranges. They have a game room inside the bistro and a salon to get your hair done. They music on Tuesdays and Thursdays. They sell liquor once a week if you want a drink on happy hour. They have a gymn on the second floor and on the main floor they have a theatre to watch movies three days a week. They have a beautiful center court area if you want to sit outside. They have nurses where they bring your pills. The suite you live in is a fair size for one person. It is pet friendly.
Our family has no hesitation recommending Sturgeon Creek I. Our mother has lived there since 2016. I am impressed at how many staff members know her name and know that I am her son. Staff know her needs, phone her children quickly with any concerns about her health or safety. Building is pet-friendly (my mother moved in with a small dog). Grounds are pretty, encourage residents to sit outside or walk on paved path surrounding the building. Activities are extensive, activity leaders are friendly and persuasive. She enjoys hosting us for dinner.
My parents have been fortunate enough to live in Sturgeon Creek retirement residence, building 1, for just over 2 years now. It has been great for them to have so many activities available, every day, even throughout Covid. The Director of these activities is absolutely amazing and so good with the seniors. I don’t know what they would do without her. They have done a fantastic job keeping the residents and visitors alike safe during Covid and have gone above and beyond at keeping the residence active and engaged. I am so happy with our choice to have them there, it has changed our lives as a family. I don’t have to worry about them as I did when they were living on their own. The shuttle service has also been a saving grace while I am still working. The driver is fantastic as well and takes great care of them when going to appointments and always picks them up promptly. I am available for questions if anyone is considering making this home for their parents or family members.
Sturgeon Creek Retirement Residence 1 is always a delightful experience. As a vendor and community member who goes into the building to work with the residents to facilitate group drumming activities there is always such a positive atmosphere. The staff are all super friendly and make me feel welcomed every time I go. The residents are just wonderful and you can tell that they are happy because they are always so willing to participate and encourage others to do so as well. Last year in 2020 when everything shut down and no one could enter the building, the recreation staff went into high gear being creative in finding new ways to connect "outside" facilitators back into programming. Whether by virtual programming or video format they were able to continue the quality of life & programming available for residents. If you are looking for a place to work with as a vendor they are fantastic. If you are looking for a place for your parents to live I can tell you that they will be in good hands here.
