AWESOME! This would be a good one word description of our experience, but let me elaborate a bit. Neighbors we helped on a daily basis had finally agreed they were definitely past the need for extra resources, especially at night. It was increasingly difficult for our terminal senior to provide care for a spouse in the throws of advancing dementia. Being a retired nurse and used to the slowness of the healthcare system at times... I was in for a big surprise!
Within two hrs of my call Dennis happened to be available to meet with seniors and myself in their home to discuss the needs. He listened carefully to what they had to say about their needs and short/long term wishes. He toured the home for any safety concerns and to acquaint himself for future orientation of staff. He left with the goal of having a caregiver in the home that very night and it happened!
The caregivers we have met are kind and thoughtful and do so much more than basic care during their shifts. They talked and listened to client, they read, they played music, looked through photo albums with them, attempted small hobbies or chores with them, prepared snacks, took them to deck to enjoy nice days and communicated well with us if a concern. Dennis often met new workers at the home to update them and checked in with seniors and us to how things were going. Approachability with this entire service was a breathe of fresh air from the office staff to Dennis and the caregivers.
It was truly a gift to the seniors and to us who were now able to sleep at night, not always waiting for the phone to ring or wondering if all was well. We can't thank Dennis and the staff enough for their services.

Our family’s experience with Home Care Assistance has been exceptional in all ways. From the initial visit and uptake with Dennis Fancy to the daily care of our mother. Dennis met with my sister, brother and I late on a Friday afternoon. He took a lot of time to understand our mother’s needs, concerns and challenges. His advice as a pharmacist was invaluable and he was quickly able to identify mom’s key geriatric issues. She was matched with a care provider who was wonderful. This lady was patient, caring, safe and trustworthy. She went above the standards we expected. Our mother’s mental and physical status improved dramatically with this care. As a healthcare practitioner for 38 years, I have seen a lot of services in that time. The experience with Dennis and his company HCA ranks as one of the best. I would not hesitate to recommend them to any family for a loved one in need.

We are so grateful to Dennis and his loving, competent and experienced team! They deserve 10 stars! We were left without any help from the medical system for weeks, and Dennis and the caregivers managed a very challenging palliative care for our loved one. They treated him with unconditional care and dignity at the most challenging times and all through the extended time of his declining health. Working with Home Care Assistance was not like working with an agency. It was working with a group of skilled and experienced individuals who were on our team 24/7 and who cared about our loved one as much as we did. They went out of their way to make him comfortable, settle him when he was in distress, and ensure that all of his needs were taken care of above and beyond our expectations. They were the ones who did all the tough work on the ground, connected us with resources we needed, and helped us deal with the medical system to secure help that was initially denied. Our loved one passed away peacefully in his own home, thanks to Dennis and his team. We are so honoured to have met each and every one of them.

I wish I could give Dennis and his team of experts more than just these five stars, everyone involved in Home Care Assistance went above and beyond our expectations.

My father was most certainly not the easiest man to deal with, the staff from home care assistance were able to calm him down, administer medication, and even get my dad moving around the house with little difficulty.

I couldn’t be more impressed with the way Dennis involved himself, he was visiting my father in his home weekly until he passed away. Dennis also has a background in pharmacy and was willing to attend every meeting I had with palliative care and other required services. He asked questions that we didn’t even know would have an impact, expressed concern and made sure things were being done properly.

I can’t stress enough that the people at Home Care Assistance ACTUALLY CARE! They go above and beyond in every category.
