The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - Southside

Changing my review. Went today with my wife for our anniversary. I was super impressed with the service. It was so busy for a Tuesday. Unless Tuesdays are always like this, either way my wife and I had amazing speedy service and with no sacrifice to the meal. Jaclyn K was our server and she was amazing! Her knowledge and suggestions were spot on and she was there checking in on us but not so much that we were constantly being bothered. I don't know what else to say but that we left happy on our anniversary. The free dessert was amazing too! "Billy miner pie" yum 😋

Service was wonderful. Very attentive but never intrusive. A very busy time, must have been near capacity, fantastic to see Winnipegers coming out to support this great restaurant. My wife had the twin lobster tail dinner. I was jealous! 14 oz prime rib and twice baked potato was.mine. Delicious! I will be back for sure.

After years of being away from the Keg due to covid and having little ones I decided to take my wife for dinner with our 1 year old. We were told there would be a 40 minute wait, which ended up being more than double unfortunately. I was really worried our daughter was going to lose her patience but thankfully she waited patiently.

I understand it was extremely busy, but there could have been better expectations set, I’m a big believer of not over promising and under delivering.

We thought about leaving after waiting almost an hour and a half but we were finally seated, now at this point we really didn’t know what to expect and I was nervous that it was going to take another hour to get our food. Once we were seated they paid for our appetizers and deserts. We didn’t care too much about the free food but what really turned our experience around was Nikki, she was amazing and super professional. Just to the point and got us exactly what we wanted without making any mistakes.

She was super personable, and knowledgeable about everything on the menu.

Our server Brittany was great! We even got a little extra dessert since there was a mix up in the kitchen (just made the wrong size in our favor!!). My reason for not giving 5 stars is last time when we came we got the truffle steak and it was AMAZING. Had such great flavour in the truffle sauce! This time however the steak was still good but I could not taste the truffle even when I was given more sauce (which came promptly!) I was disappointed with this and would of preferred my go to meal had I known

Thank you for the great dinner. The patio is a very nice space to enjoy a tasteful meal like the one we had. The cocktails were awesome too. Polite, accomodating and friendly staff.

Updated 8/15, once again a great dinner. We went there for a special occasion and we couldn't celebrate it better. Zoe, out waitress, did an awesome job. They also served us a very tasty desert on the house, for our celebration. Their distancing measures and their overall efforts to work through this pandemic is one of the best we saw in hospitality. Thank you again
