Staff is nice. City policies BAD 1 FOR instance my fine payable to PARKING AUTHORITY ?????? THESE FUNDS SHOULD GO FOR DOGFOOD AND SUCH THINGS. NOT TO BLOATED PARKING AUTHORITY. SAD
Animal services is working to reunite owners to their pets before resorting to adoption with limited knowledge of the animals. Considering the very limited funding that they receive, they do an impressive job of it.
I've been dealing with Animal Services for a very difficult reason but every single staff member I've dealth with, from the GM to Nicole(Animal Service Officer), to the admin staff, have been very pleasant, helpful and as accomodating as possible. They truly have gone out of their way to make this experience a little easier to cope with.
Haven't been here for decades. The place certainly has changed since the 70's, and now includes WRENCH, a group that helps kids and others get and maintain bicycles. Nice airy feeling, despite an antiseptic hint it is still a welcoming environment. There is a small walled in exterior area where you can meet and greet potential family members. We registered to meet a dog from the on line posting but they called and discussed him with us, coming to the conclusion we were not the best matchup, but recommended a new arrival so we went in to see her and came home a couple of hours later with this little lady. They supply a couple days worth of food so there is no rush about getting supplies. She's already settling in, and I think I'm down a few pounds having to walk her every day. (I would strongly suggest getting cleats for your boots, the streets are incredibly slick and slippery and a misplaced tug on the leash could take you down.)
Adopted a dog today. The staff were very helpful and great to deal with. I had to answer a bunch of questions in order to adopt the animal, which is good, because they need to know that you are actually prepared for the pet you are choosing. They need to ensure everyone in the household is on board and your yard is adequately fenced in etc. They were diligent in telling me all the history of the dog that they knew of, and what to expect from this dog. The costs were reasonable, the process was pretty quick, and so far the dog is a great match for our household. They had a variety of dogs, ages, energy levels, to choose from. They have a take a dog for the weekend program, which is nice if you just want to test out a dog. After adopting, they give you seven days to return the dog if things are not working out with the animal you have chosen. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to adopt a dog.
