We had Melanie shoot family photos. She was really easy to deal with and very responsive. The weather was cold for the kids the day of the shoot and she was great at keeping things moving and trying to coax smiles out of everyone! The turnaround time to receive the photos was excellent along with detailed instructions on how to achieve high quality prints. Would certainly recommend!

We found Prairie and Pine through family. They had used Prairie and Pine once at the time, and now twice. They had told us of the exceptional experience they had. We reached out to Melanie and received a reply right away. She asked us a few questions and before you know it our maternity shoot arrived. Melanie was quick and efficient and captured exactly what we had in mind. She is very easy going and made us feel comfortable. Shortly after our daughter was born (2 weeks) we met again for the new born photos. These took place in her studio. The studio was clean, well prepared and we were even greeted with a few goodies. The newborn shoot was very fast and efficient (just want you need when dealing with a newborn). We were in and out in about an hour. Melanie has a way with newborns and knows just what to do to sooth them if need be. Which comes with a lot of experience professionally and personally. From initial contact to completion the process was smooth and enjoyable. The photos were beyond our expectations. We highly recommend Prairie and Pine and look forward to our next encounter with her!

Melanie is just the best photographer. She did our maternity photos, as well as our family photos when our daughter was 10 months and the photos are simply amazing. We will cherish these memories forever. I promise you’ll want to print every single picture that she sends you because they are ALL beautiful. She truly has a gift to capture light and people. Absolutely love our family photos and cake smash pictures! Before the photo shoot she helped me pick my family outfits, something that really stresses me out. During the photos Melanie was quick as to not lose my one and three year olds attentions but also put us in flattering poses and took many angles for us to choose from. I was thrilled with how many great photos we received!
