Safe clean environment, great place to hang out
Love this range. Good staff. Only wish i could shoot my .50 cal desert eagle here.... unfortunatly they don't allow it and the only place in the city that allows it is a horrible range called xtreme gun club.
Took some classes here. Very clean facility, nice seating area, dedicated class room space. Everything in good repair. The best thing I can say is while doing the first course, a member with a pistol removed it from its case to show the instructor and another member in the seating area spoke up to politely remind him that nobody was to handle firearms aside from at the designated areas. I was very impressed, since it suggested a real culture of responsibility and safety, even when it's not necessarily popular.
Tried out the firing line gun club today. It was very nice.
I did some ipsc drills to get familiar with the style of shooting they do.
I found that the range had an area where you could sit and relax or eat your lunch (there is a subway very close where you can get a lunch if you didn't bring one). They also had a safe area where you could invade your firearm, clean it, fix it and holster it (just no handling of ammo in safe area). There is a drink machine in the lounge area as well.
They had male and female washrooms and tables and chairs to sit at and socialize.
The shooting lanes were very good as well. I liked that. You could either use the running lines to setup paper targets or grab the brackets to use your 1x2 stringers for cardboard targets.
I can see why the membership cost as much as it does. It is worth it for the indoor comfort.
One more note: it will be loud in there as it's indoors.
