Really great gym with really smart and patient instructors. Randal is also really understanding with payments, seems to genuinely be living off of his passion. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking to get into the sport or already experienced. Can't go wrong.
As of now I’ve been going for around 3-4 months and I don’t see myself ever leaving the gym. Everyone is super friendly and helpful and willing to teach. The whole environment of the gym is great. And Randal, Caleb, Mike and Jeff are all great coaches who explain everything very well and break down all techniques so that you understand them. Would definitely recommend if you are looking to get into jiu-jitsu
I have had my two kids here since the very first day they opened. This is the best place in Winnipeg to take your kids to. Unlike other BJJ gyms in Winnipeg- you have to earn your belts and know the material- the moves- drills to earn your stripes and be promoted in belts. You are not just given a belt! Which is the best, my two kids have improved significantly since coach Randal became their instructor. The facility is extremely clean, with no doors! And everyone is very friendly. Randal treats every student respectfully and has a structured class! I drive past three other gyms to bring my kids to this one- 40 minutes away from our home- but well worth it! I will miss this place when we relocate this summer. Thank you Randal for all of your professionalism, knowledge, and skill!!!
I can’t say enough about this gym!! But sign up! You won’t regret it!!
Unbelievable environment and instruction. Instructors are detailed, welcoming and friendly. No better place in Winnipeg for both aspiring, and experienced martial artists with a passion for the intricacies of Brazilian jiu-jitsu and grappling. Couldn't recommend this club more.
We are so happy with the training our boys are receiving at Socius BJJ. It is obvious Randal has put a lot of thought into the curriculum and we can already see real progress in our sons' skill development. They receive individual feedback that is honest and constructive. The environment is friendly and the facilities are safe and comfortable.
The ethos and overall philosophy of the gym, as described on the web site, is evident in the way people interact in the space. This is as important to me as the skills my children are learning as I feel they are part of a larger community of people committed to helping each other improve.
We are very happy at Socius and would recommend it to anyone.
