After driving from NC to the Canadian border entry point near Champlain, NY in a day and a half, I was beyond excited to hand over my passport and head towards my beautiful fiancée in Montréal. However, I ended up detained for over an hour before being sent back into the States with a refusal of merchandise order. I either had to find a storage facility, get rid of my excess things, or drive back to NC. Cue in panic and a pretty serious emotional meltdown at a gas station in Champlain.

Fortunately, my dad got ahold of Lester, my actual knight in shining armour. Not only did Lester drive out to his facility to help me out within half an hour of being contacted, he also brought me my own padlock (of excellent quality), showed me exactly how to lock the unit door, and was incredibly kind. He gave me my own code to the electronic gate, as well. Lester told me that the facility has 24hr video surveillance and that at night it’s “lit up like Fort Knox.”

Honestly, I am so unbelievably thankful for Lester’s prompt and thorough assistance. He apparently runs 3 storage facilities, so this isn’t amateur hour! I feel like my things are in good hands!

If you need a storage facility near the border, either planned or unplanned like my need was, I cannot recommend Corner Storage & Rentals enough!

I rarely review and when I do I seldom give five stars but the folks at Corner Storage tipped my hand. The staff here were so friendly and responsive to my many questions I was kinda blown away and felt compelled to share my thoughts.
From a practical standpoint, the storage units were clean and easy to access and basically what you'd hope/expect to see. A big bonus for me was, after figuring out my pick-up couldn't handle the move, they could also rent me a moving truck and I got a really good deal on one for the day (didn't ask about prices for longer).
My takeaway was this is a friendly, well managed and hassle free place for big and small storage needs and also a one-stop-shop for anybody moving places. Definitely will use these guys again.
