Amherst Police Department

My daughter was called by a bill collector at college and bothered about a matter concerning an old cell phone bill. The woman who answered instructed me properly. I just don’t think these officers get the credit they deserve for all the small things that they try to help the residents with. No one is perfect but at least when you call with a question they take the time to try to help be it a small one. They have been kind over the phone and and that’s hard to do in a high stress job. To be kind and not irritable on small matters.

very gentle with the handcuffs, and patrol car was incredibly roomy. Very professional, would get arrested by them again.

Almost all my encounters with the Amherst Police have been quick and professional with me. Even though there was one occasion where one of the officers seemed upset for some reason, it was completely understandable.
