Very greatful for Dr Peer.
It took me forever to find a pain management Dr. who didnt want to drug me to the hilt or blow me off completely.
He is the perfect mixture of MD, educator and patient advocate.
He takes my complaints seriously. He guides me to make important decisions about my health care.
He knows that I do not want to be dependent on anyone or anything.
He uses sound judgement and current research to assist in dealing with my chronic pain issues due to 3 failed back surgeries. Without medicating me like a zombie as my previous pain management Doctor did.
He is aware and can truly understand how this relentless pain affects all aspects of my life, including but not limited to depression that one feels when they are no longer able to work in their chosen field. The dynamics of a strained relationship due to pain, depression and unfulfilled life goals. Financial and emotional stress which comes with any chronic diagnosis.
He is extremely adept with a needle. Cognizant of your pain levels while performing procedures. He is a wonderful Teacher who really likes to explain the who, what and how of diagnosis, treatment and offers realistic expectations of prognosis. Always keeping an open mind to shifts in the healthcare continum.
Well informed, well read and well traveled.
Has an wonderful dry wit and
supportive comforting manner putting patients at ease.
He tries the best he can , against odds to assist me in having as full a life as physically possible knowing my limitations.
He encourages me when pain is at its worst and revels in my
progress toward recovery even the smallest steps.
