I love the police. They are needed. I even got in the past got in trouble with them. All I want to know is how to reach them besides calling.

I don't often have good things to say about the police, most of my interactions have been pretty horrible. Whether through my own actions or what I perceive to be a police officers generally abhorrent disposition, the fact that is they usually just don't go well.

However today my wife was pulled over, she's 8 almost 9 months pregnant. Our inspection is up on our car, you know how it is, take it to the mechanic for an inspection they tell you your 2016 whatever needs 4 new tires and a transmission before they can give you the sticker. So you put it off. Vowing never to return to that scam artist and your inspection doesn't get done. The officer, I think an Erie County sheriff (I was in a slight panic) pulled her over on the day of her baby shower. She was right outside our house and pulled into our driveway. Apparently she was having contractions, I had just gotten out of the shower and heard a knock on my door. It was the officer standing there, so I answered it - still wrapped in a towel - and he told me he pulled my wife over but she was going into labor. I grabbed a shirt, mismatched socks and the closet pants on had, my dirty work pants. I scooped up our baby bag rushed outside, remembered to lock the door, and ran to the car. Forgetting of course the baby seat. Got to the car, the cop asked if we were all right, if I was going to drive her and if we wanted him to call ems. The man was a pro, he didn't issue us a ticket and I owe him for that, I've never EVER gotten out of a ticket and reguardless of labor pains in my experience this would be no different. Yet it was. Different. And I'd like to thank him but I didn't get his badge number or even car number before he checked once more if we were okay and pulled away. He was a young guy, shorter than me, maybe 5'7 or 5'8, handsome and super chill. Hopefully I never see him again, only because of obvious reasons, if I do encounter him he'll probably be doing his job, writing me a ticket. But if I do, I will remember to thank him for breaking the mold, not being the stereotypical jerk officer and actually putting serve and protect before filling a quota. If he ever reads this, and I hope he does, thank you.
