Devil's Hole State Park

It was amazing. The entire experience was a blast. Be prepared to sweat and make sure to bring a big bottle of water. It is very humid and gets worse the further you go. But the sights made the whole thing absolutely worth it.

378 steps down to Devils Hole. What a lovely trail. Well maintained. But do watch your step. Some tree roots and some boulders that you will need to navigate around. Due to potential erosion and safety concerns you are asked to stay on the trail and can be fined for failure to comply. Pretty walk. Loved it. Looking forward to exploring more around the Niagara Fall state park area.

This area of the park is wonderful. I enjoyed the VERY long staircase from road level down to water level. At the bottom, there are trails reaching in both directions along the water. You could spend a good hour or two here without being bored. The views at the road level are fabulous. It is currently June 2019 and there is some construction blocking the usual scenic drive route from the actual falls to this part of the park. The rerouting is not too bad. Worth the drive!

Amazing trails. Very easy to navigate. They saw moderate skill and at times that's being generous. Lots of stairs, so you'll feel the burn. Other than that decent amount of parking. Plan a half day or more to actually enjoy it. Use the bathroom before hand as I didnt are any public bathrooms.

Amazing experience to hike down to the bottom of Niagara Gorge and see up close the water that just came over Niagara Falls then spreads out into Devils Hole which is an enormous whirlpool, that was carved out by erosion. Then it's just as awesome to see that same huge pool of water get pushed along into an increasingly narrow space on either side, however this is still the very same amount of water as is flowing over the Falls, so the shear power of all that water channeled into width of about a soccer field. My pictures are of the George, the waters of Devils Hole, as well as the rapids from the channeling water continuing down the Niagara River, on its way to Lake Ontario. Thanks for reading! :)
