House made pasta, enough said. Red sauce is perfect. Pizza is amazing.
We've never been disappointed with the new LaHacienda. Everything is just as it was - cold salads - delicious food - fantastic pizza.
My Inlaws favorite pizza place in Western New York-- now I know why. If you like a thin crust pizza this is your place. My kids eat so much we had to order another pie, this has never happened before. Wait staff is top notch and super friendly. The wings are great as well. Truly a wonderful family meal not to be missed.
This restaurant has been in Niagara Falls since the glory days, some 40+ years. That has to count for something. The former, longstanding and a character of an owner, Aldo, tried to sell it in 2015 to enjoy his golden years, but perhaps understandably after pouring his life into it, wanted a price that was not realistic. In early 2018, he passed, literally at work. After a short closing, it was reopened by a local fan, and is almost exactly the same as it always has been. Although there are hopeful signs...patrons are no longer rudely directed to go across the street to an ATM in this cash only restaurant, as they've finally got their own in-house ATM, and they are closing for a week to do renovations. There are also areas of concern. The pizza is good, if not soggy, but it is overpriced. Order water, and don't bring the kids, as the soda pop is both small and there are no such things as free refills at La Hacienda. While it's a favorite of the local senior citizens, there might be a few changes the new owner could make to attract a younger crowd, and actually fill all those empty tables. Don't nickle and dime customers by not accepting credit cards, Apple, Android and Google Pay. No one under 50 who has money carries cash anymore, and if they do, it's not enough for dinner here.
Forget the renovations, and get some glasses and plates. Customers are expected to eat pizza on plates no bigger than a coffee or tea saucer.
The vintage soda pop glasses are quaint, but too small, especially considering the price, not to mention free-refills are standard. Everyone knows how much the soda pop costs the restaurant. Aldo could get away with clinging to days gone by, but if this place doesn't adapt, it will join the many other empty buildings dotting Pine Avenue. Provide good food, friendly prompt service and a reasonable price, and they will come...back.
