Masstown Creamery

March 6th was my wife's birthday and at her party, we had a cake from the Creamery Cafe - Chocolate cake with a chocolate icing and filling - It was hands down the best cake I have had in Canada! Everyone loved it and it was custom made and fresh. The cake was so good, moist and delicious. The frosting was like a whipped chocolate cream that had this incredibly smooth texture and the taste was so well balanced. Overall just a remarkable dessert. As I said, the best cake I have had in Canada!

Similar to my review for the butcher, we didn't go prepared last year to take home cold or frozen things. So we went back a couple of weeks ago and filled our cooler and cold bags!! The height of excellence for me is by far their egg nog - best on the market, anywhere, hands down. I should've bought 4L. It's so smooth, not too thick, not too sweet or over spiced. Just perfect. We bought a selection of cheeses, some clotted cream (which I enjoyed on fresh scones this past weekend), as well as some English sweets that aren't easy to come by. My husband was born and raised in England and he loves all of the imported UK goods. The ceramic prep and baking bowls are also stunning. I would say everything is relatively competitively priced. Some imported things are $$$ but I can imagine that's also a result of the last 18+ months. Definitely a must if you're driving through the area. BUY SOME EGG NOG. You won't be sorry.

What a cool place!! Get some meats and specialty cheeses, so new and clean, can’t wait for them to start making their own cheese!
